Protecting Your Network
Do you share your Internet connection at home using a standard or wireless router? In addition to protecting a single computer, the iPhantom™ and iBoss™ can also be used to protect your entire network so that all of your computers can benefit from the security and protection that they provide.
How It works...
Follow the simple steps outlined below to protect your home network with the iPhantom™ or iBoss™. By default, the iPhantom™and iBoss™ are configured to use DHCP, which is used by most Internet Service Providers. If instead your Internet Service Provider supplies you with a static IP address, you will need to configure the iPhantom™ or iBoss™ with the appropriate settings (see the appropriate Users Manual for more details).

Unplug

Unplug the network cable from the Internet port on your router and plug it into the jack on the iPhantom™ or iBoss™ labeled "Internet". The iPhantom™ or iBoss™ should now have a direct connection to your broadband Internet modem.

Connect it

Connect one end of the supplied network cable to the Internet port on your (wired or wireless) router, and the other end to the port on the iPhantom™ or iBoss™ labeled "Computer".

Protect it

Power on the iPhantom™ or iBoss™. The Internet connection for your home network is now secure and protected.

iPhantom™

Now that the iPhantom™
is connected, Internet data leaving your network is secured. The iPhantom™ automatically intercepts and secures any packets that are headed for the Internet and routes them through secure Phantom Gateways. All of the computers on your network will be automatically protected against viruses, spyware/adware, hackers and other malicious Internet threats. There is no software to install and no confusing setup procedures. Its as easy as 1-2-3!

iBoss™

With the iBoss™ connected, you become the boss of your Internet connection. You can restrict access to websites through simple categories, monitor and view Internet access reports, schedule Internet access time, and manage access to online applications such as chat, P2P file sharing, and gaming. Its as easy as 1-2-3!

Using the iPhantom ™ and the iBoss™ Together
The iPhantom™ and iBoss™ can be used together to protect and manage your Internet connection. The configuration would look like this:

Using the iBoss™ With a Switch for Filtering Control Over Individual Computers
With the iBoss™ you can control filtering and bypassing for specific computers. The iBoss™ allows you to bypass filtering for certain identified computers while filtering others. This is done using the computer's MAC address so that even if the IP address changes, filtering will remain applied or bypassed according to your settings.

By default, the iBoss™ is shipped in a configuration where all computers are filtered (DHCP Shared, Static Shared). In this shared mode the iBoss™ shares the IP address with the device it is attached to (router, computer, etc.)

You may change the operating mode (DHCP or Static) so that the iBoss™ obtains its own IP address on your network and place the iBoss™ between the router and a switch, the iBoss™ will allow you to bypass filtering and also nickname computers on your network. This will allow you to identify which computers are generating violations in your violation logs.

Protecting Your Wireless Home Network with the iPhantom™
If you are using a wireless bridge to connect two remote locations, your data over the air within your home network may not be protected. If you need to join two networks via wireless bridge, below is a diagram to show you how to properly set up an encrypted wireless network. By having two wireless access points and the iPhantom set up on the computer side of the access points, you have full 256-Bit AES encryption for your data going through the air making it impossible for anyone to intercept and view your personal data. With this setup implemented on your network, the Internet data within and leaving your wireless network is secured.
